KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (Bernama) — The tapir is unfortunately one of Malaysia’s endangered animals.

According to a 2017 article by Utusan Malaysia, just 1,500-2,000 remain in the wild

To protect the beautiful animal from extinction, the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) has collaborated with Gariswarna to organise an art exhibition called Tapirama at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTIC) in Kuala Lumpur till May 5, with the entrance fee waived.

The exhibition which aims to raise funds for tapir conservation features the artwork of Abby Zain, Mie Mambo, Ida Sri Sulo and Lal Mural.

There are also drawing on glass, colouring and tapir plush toy-making workshops by the artists.
