Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad arrived in New York on Tuesday for the 73rd United Nations General Assembly. The Premier will deliver Malaysia’s national statement during the assembly’s general debate on Friday.

In his 2003 UN speech as Malaysia’s fourth Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir railed against the hegemony of rich and powerful countries imposing their will on weaker nations. He called for a restructuring of the UN, saying that the world had lost its way.
